When the trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away (Mark 4:17).
When we start our life following Christ and His words we will start seeing the troubles in our life. Then we will start questioning God why and compare our lives before Christ and after Christ. When we do this we will feel that past life was so good to us for we had many things at that time. It reflects our character as our fore fathers, for when the Israelites came out of Egypt, every time when they had trouble or they lack something in the wilderness, they immediately think about the past life in Egypt that they had nice food and waters (Numbers 11:5-6), but they forgot that they had no freedom over there. We should remember that when we follow Christ, we will have an assurance of freedom by the Spirit of God ( John 8:36; 2 Corinthians 3:17).
James said, you have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about (James 5:11). Yes, Job was persevered in his life for he knows about God. Job shunned evil and was a righteous man in the sight of God. But he struggled in his life even though he lived a righteous life. All his friends and his wife cursed him and left him. But Job didn’t sin against God (Job 2:10). We should understand that when we really know the word of God and follow it in our life, we get troubles to test our faith in God. It doesn't mean that we are neglected by God. God is not looking for an opportunity that when we come to Him, the next minute He will forsake us. God promised He never leave us and nor forsake us (Joshua 1:5). When we read James words, finally Lord delivered Job. When the time of devil ends, God will surely bring us out for the time of devil is very short (Revelation 12:12).
Dear people of God, God is so merciful. God said even a mother forsakes her children, but I will never (Isaiah 49:15), and Psalmist David said when my mother and father forsake me, Lord you will receive me (Psalm 27:10). What else the assurance we need? Even the Word of God brings us troubles to us, if we keep our faith, we will see the deliverance of God and we will have eternal life. Even if we fall for seven times as a righteous man, God will lift us up (Proverbs 24:16).
