Boasting : I don’t boast?

Let’s Check..

Boasting means : To glorify oneself in speech; talk in a self-admiring way.
To speak with excessive pride and self-satisfaction about one's achievements, possessions, or abilities.
                                                                                                          A cause for pride.

Boasting is not a negative word as it’s been mostly misinterpreted in today’s world. Boasting has its own right and wrong reasons.

As believers we need to know the part we function or associate with.

Many among us are unaware of the way we directly or indirectly boast/involve ourselves in our own Christian boasting language.

Some Boast Check-Up’s:

1.)   Do I feel better in comparing myself with my unsaved/yet to be saved friend/companion/neighbour/colleague?
(In other words have i forgotten that it’s by grace i have been saved.)

2.)  Do I vehemently boast about my Church (denomination, size, appearance etc..)?

3.)  Do I Project the ministry the Lord had placed more than the Lord Himself?

4.)  Do I boast about a Particular Person (Your Church Pastor/A Missionary/A Fellow friend etc..) more than our Lord?

5.)  Do I value any relationship as precious and better compared to the relationship with the Son of God?

6.)  Do i make a ruckus about the gifts/authorities/responsibilities which the Lord has granted to you for building His Body?

7.)  Do I boast about my giving to the Lord’ work?
(For all we have is from Him... and what can we give Him back)..

8.)  Do I boast about my 21 days/40 days/ any number of days fasting and praying?

9.)  Do i boast about my Prayer life?

10.)                Do I consider one person in my fellowship/Church better than another based on his\her gifts or talents?
(Or in other words Do I see every person within the Church as the Lord sees him\her)

11.) Do I offend the rise/growth of a person by fearing to lose the leadership hold/any other position i am granted with?

12.)                Am I ready to give up anything, anywhere at any time for the Lord sake when the time comes?

13.)                Am i really serious about following the One who called me out of darkness or rather make an empty boast of Him?

Be genuine to answer all.... Now comes the only right part......

The Only right boasting is:

Apostle paul writes:

1.     “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” ... 1 Corinthians 1:31

2.  May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Gal 6 -14
